  1. Set realistic goals – is making the top 1% of the sales team your ultimate goal? It is possible just set a realistic time frame, plan the steps to get there and you will most likely succeed.
  2. Break the goal into stages – to be in the top 1% of the sales team mean getting leads. How many leads do you need to increase your chance to close a sale? Make that a monthly goal then break it into weekly then daily goals.
  3. Stay motivated – celebrate your small successes. It will carry you through the tough days when it is hard to get those leads.

Rewarding yourself with a small token when you meet a stage in your goal is a good way to stay motivated and keep you from giving up when the challenge gets bigger.
